Microsoft Virtual Earth Maps Introduced
July 3, 2005
The Microsoft Virtual
Earth Map implementation was completed today. The Google Maps implementation
will follow within the next 30 days, followed by the introduction of comparative
graphing of country information on printer friendly pages by the end of
the year. The process of placing all country information into a relational
database is expected to require another three months with coding requiring
an additional two months. The new Student Resource Center should be ready
by the beginning of 2007!
WorldCountries.Info Stolen
June 10, 2006
Please be aware that
in early May, 2006 WorldCountries.info became aware that our web site
had been stolen and republished under the domain names www.world-and-countries.com
and www.bestworldcountries.com.
Authorities in New
Zealand and the United States indicated that the purpose of the theft
was to use WorldCountries.info as a legitimate "store front"
for a spam email campaign whose purpose was to lure victims to an identity
theft and money laundering scheme.
These two sites are
no longer available on the Internet, but unfortunately these individuals
might attempt to republish under a new domain name in the future.
Should you see a copy
of our web site it will have the following characteristics:
- The pages will
appear exactly as do our pages with the same photos, fonts, page design,
etc. You will be able to flip from the "cloned" page to the
source page on our site and see almost no difference whatsoever
- All of the scripted
pages on WorldCountries.info --- such as latest news, latest weather,
the Amazon store, the photo gallery, and the discussion forum --- will
have been removed since these individuals possess neither the resources
to maintain them nor any need for them
- The name of our
publisher might even appear on the Mission Statement page, just as it
does on WorldCountries.info
If you see such a
clone of WorldCountries.info please report it immediately to webmaster@worldcountries.info.
Thanks much! |
